<p><em>Indonesian people tend to use medicines made from natural ingredients to maintain a healthy body. Based on traditional medicine laws and regulations, it is prohibited to use isolated or synthetic chemicals with medicinal, narcotic, or psychotropic properties, as well as ingredients from protected animals or plants. However, there are still many jamu that contain medicinal chemicals that are freely circulating on the market. This study aims to analyze the medicinal chemicals of allopurinol, prednisone, and dexamethasone in jamu for gout circulating in Banda Aceh using the thin layer chromatography (TLC) method. This research is experimental in nature and involves qualitative laboratory tests with three samples of gout jamu taken based on the purposive sampling method with three repetitions of observations on TLC carried out by looking at the spots under a 254 nm UV lamp, then comparing the Rf value between the test solution and the sample solution. Based on the results of observations from both methods, it is suspected that the three negative samples contained medicinal chemicals such as allopurinol and prednisone because the Rf values were different between the working standards and the samples. The positive dexamethasone occurred in the three jamu. This is not in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia number 007 of 2012 concerning registration of traditional medicines, which states that traditional medicines are prohibited from using isolated chemicals, which are often called medicinal chemicals.</em></p>Safrina

<p>Hypertension is a circulatory disorder that causes blood pressure to rise above normal, namely ≥140/90 mmHg. The number of people with hypertension continues to increase from year to year, where it is estimated that 1.5 billion people will be affected by hypertension in 2025 and 10.44 million people will die every year due to hypertension and its complications. Irrational drug use is a global problem that endangers public health. This study aims to determine rationality analysis of antihypertensive drug in adult hypertension patients undergoing inpatient in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta period January-December year 2022. This research is an observational descriptive study with cross sectional method that retrieves data retrospectively from medical records patient. Rationality analysis was performed using the 8T method. Population that used in this study were adult hypertensive patients undergoing inpatient at in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta period January-December year 2022, with a total sample of 100 samples. The results obtained are right diagnosis (100%), right indication (100%), right drug selection (99%), right dose (92%), right way of giving the drug (100%), right time interval of administration (94%), appropriate long gift (100%), and right assessment patient's condition (100%).</p>Evika Risa Antasya

<p><em>Hypertension is one of the biggest causes of death in the world. The results of </em><em>Riset Kesehatan Dasar in</em> <em>2018 </em><em>show</em><em>s</em><em> that of the 34 provinces in Indonesia, Aceh Province ranks 27<sup>th</sup> with a percentage of the population experiencing hypertension of 26.45%. Hypertension is ranked 3<sup>rd</sup> of the</em> <em>10 most common diseases at </em><em>Ibu dan Anak Aceh </em><em>Hospital. This research aims to determine the profile of </em><em>anti-hypertensive</em><em> use in outpatients at the</em><em> Ibu dan Anak Aceh </em><em>Hospital for the period January- June 2022. The research method used is descriptive. The population and sample in this study were </em><em>total </em><em>prescriptions from </em><em>out</em><em>patients suffering from hypertension who received treatment at </em><em>Ibu dan Anak Aceh</em><em> Hospital in the period January</em><em> - </em><em>June 2022. The results of the study were based on patient characteristics, the highest number of patients suffering from hypertension were women, 65 people</em> <em>(96%) and the age range most affected by hypertension is 55-64 years old with 21 people (31%). <p><em>Flavonoids are natural compounds that have ability as antioxidants. Flavonoids are found in many vegetables, one of which is the Oyong fruit (Luffa acutangula L). This study aims to determine the ratio of total flavonoid content of fresh and boiled Oyong fruit (Luffa acutangula L) using visibel spectrophotometry. Fresh Oyong fruit and boiled Oyong fruit for 5 minutes were determined qualitatively by Mg and HCl test, 10% NaOH test, concentrated H<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub> test and quantitative test using the visibel spectrophotometry method at a wavelength of 431 nm. Comparison of total flavonoid levels can be analyzed by Independent T-test. The results of the qualitative test showed that fresh and boiled Oyong fruit positively contained flavonoids. The average level of flavonoids in fresh oyong fruit is 0.19 mgQE/ gram with a coefficient of variation of 0.40%. The average level of flavonoids in boiled oyong fruit is 0.28 mgQE/ gram with a coefficient of variation of 0.14%. The average level of flavonoids in boiled oyong fruits was significantly higher than the levels of flavonoids in fresh Oyong fruits with p<0.05.</em></p>Devina Ingrid Anggraini

<p><em>Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), Indonesia ranks 7th with 8.5 million diabetes mellitus sufferers. The use of plants as traditional medicine for various diseases has been widely used, traditional medicine from natural ingredients has become an alternative treatment, one of which is diabetes. This research aims to determine the public's perception of the use of traditional medicines for anti-diabetes in Kuta Cot Glie District, Aceh Besar Regency. This research is descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used is a purposive sampling technique, namely a sampling technique with certain considerations. The results of data analysis showed that the public's perception of the use of traditional medicines for anti-diabetes was mostly in the good category, 26 people (86.7%) and the most people used traditional medicines for anti-diabetes, namely 14 people (46.7%). <p>Hand sanitizer is a preparation in the form of a gel that is widely used by the public as a practical hand washing tool. Jackfruit leaves (<em>Artocarpus heterophyllus</em> Lam.) have antibacterial properties that can be used for hand sanitizers. This study aims to formulate and evaluate jackfruit leaf extract gel with CMC Na gelling agent at concentrations of 1% (F1), 2% (F2) and 3% (F3). Evaluation of physical properties carried out includes organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, spreadability and viscosity. The results showed that all formulas were brown, smelled of mint, and homogeneous. F1 was slightly thick, F2 was thick and F3 was very thick. The pH of F1, F2 and F3 were 5.8 ± 0.05; 5.9 ± 0.05, and 5.8 ± 0.1. The spreadability of F1, F2 and F3 were 6.6 ± 0.49 cm respectively; F2 6.4±0.30 cm and F3 5.5±0.15 cm. The viscosity of F1, F2 and F3 were 13.3±2.88 dPa.s; 25±0 dPa.s and 30±0 dPa.s respectively. <p><em>This study aims to analyze the content of vitamin C in packaged beverages using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. Three different packaged beverage samples were tested, and the results showed variations in vitamin C content. The UV-Vis spectrophotometry method proved effective in analyzing the content of vitamin C in packaged beverages. However, these results can be influenced by various factors, such as the type of fruit used in the drink, processing, and storage. This research provides important insights into the content of vitamin C in packaged beverages, which can be used by producers and consumers to make better decisions about beverage products.</em></p>Eky Desi Wulandari

<p><em>Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency in 2021, the prevalence of people in Indonesia who do self-medication is 84.23%.. Some studies show that influenza is a disease that many people complain about during self-medication. Self-medication against influenza is not a completely safe treatment, so knowledge of the use of infuenza drugs must be required. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of public knowledge about influenza medicine self-medication in Soka, TambongWetan, Kalikotes, Klaten Regency.The study was conducted in a quantitative descriptive observational manner involving 97 research respondents taken by purposive sampling method. Data was taken using questionnaire that had previously been tested for validity and reliability, data analysis with univariate analysis using Microsoft excelto get an overview of the frequency and percentage of knowledge levels so that they were categorized into high, medium and low.The results showed that 63.92% of respondents had a good level of knowledge about influenza drug self-medication, 35.05% had a sufficient level of knowledge, 1.03% had a lack of knowledge. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the majority of respondents have a good level of knowledge about influenza drug self-medication.</em></p>Danang Yulianto

<p><em>Medicine is a very important compound used for the prevention and cure of disease. Good and correct drug use is the use of drugs that are tailored to the clinical needs of patients, both adequate amount and time. Limited knowledge about the correct use of drugs is very dangerous, because if it is wrong to use drugs, it will have fatal consequences for ourselves or drug consumers. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge of students of the Department of Pharmacy Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh about the use of good and correct drugs. this research is descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were third year students, totaling 84 people. The results of data analysis obtained that the knowledge of students of the Department of Pharmacy Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh about the use of good and correct drugs is in the good category as many as 61 respondents (72.6%). <p><em>Several ornamental plants such as roses (Rosa sp.), hibiscus flowers (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) and butterfly pea flowers (Clitoria ternatea) function as medicinal ingredients. These flowers have varying colors. The varying colors of these flowers are caused by anthocyanin compounds which are part of the secondary metabolites of flavonoids. Flavonoids are part of the group of phenolic compounds and flavonoids have the ability to act as antioxidants. This research aims to determine the antioxidant activity levels of rose, hibiscus and butterfly pea flower extracts. This research is experimental. Extraction was carried out by maceration using 70% ethanol solvent. Determination of the antioxidant activity test using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil) free radical scavenging method which was measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of the antioxidant activity test showed that rose flower extract had an IC50 value of 18.39 µg/ml and hibiscus flowers had an IC50 value of 3.56 µg/ml and butterfly pea flower had an IC50 value of 9.44 µg/ml.
