THE EFFECT OF COVID-19 VACCINATION ON THE SHIFT OF THE MENSTRUAL CYCLE AMONG FEMALE TEENAGERS IN THE LUENG BATA SUB-DISTRICT OF BANDA ACEH CITY

Background of the study: Several types of research report a change in menstrual cycle after getting the Covid-19 vaccination. The menstrual cycle is a monthly hormonal cycle characterized by menstruation every month. The menstrual cycle is calculated from the first day of menstruation to the day before the next menstrual period.
Purpose of study: To examine the effect of Covid 19 vaccination on the changes in the menstrual cycle of female teenagers in Lueng Bata sub-district, Banda Aceh City.
Research Method: This research was quantitative with a descriptive survey method. The research design was cross-sectional. The samples were 100 female teenagers in the Lueng Bata sub-district in Banda Aceh City. The data analysis used an alternative test of Fisher's Exact Test using SPSS.
Research Result: All female teenagers have been vaccinated with the first and second vaccination (100%), and 19% have been vaccinated with the Booster vaccination. About 72% of the respondents got the Sinovac vaccine as the first vaccination. About 56% of the respondents got the Sinovac vaccine as the second vaccination. Meanwhile, Booster vaccination used the Pfizer vaccine. Fisher’s Exact Test showed the result =0,006 (p<0,05).
Conclusion: There is a correlation between Covid-19 vaccination with the shift of the menstrual cycle among female teenagers in Lueng Bata Sub-district of Banda Aceh City.
Suggestion: Future researchers are expected to be able to study other factors, such as vaccine content or stress, that may affect the menstrual cycle.
