Correction, Retraction, and Withdrawal
Jurnal Ilmiah Farmasi Simplisia (JIFS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of the scholarly record. Corrections, retractions, and withdrawals are handled in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policy and recognized publication ethics guidelines, including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Correction
A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article that affects the accuracy or clarity of the publication but does not invalidate its main findings or conclusions. Authors should promptly notify the editorial office upon discovering an error in their published work. The editorial team will assess the nature and significance of the error and determine whether a correction notice is necessary. Published corrections will be clearly linked to the original article to maintain transparency and preserve the scholarly record.
2. Retraction
A retraction may be issued when an article is found to contain serious errors or unreliable findings, or when there is evidence of research misconduct, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other major ethical violations that compromise the integrity of the publication. Retraction decisions are made by the editorial team following an appropriate assessment of the available evidence. Authors may be asked to provide explanations or supporting documentation. A retraction notice will explain the reason for the retraction and will be linked to the original article, which will remain accessible where appropriate and clearly marked as retracted.
3. Withdrawal
Withdrawal refers to the removal of a manuscript from consideration before its formal publication. Authors who wish to withdraw a submitted manuscript must provide a written request to the editorial office, including the reason for withdrawal and confirmation that all co-authors agree to the request. Withdrawal requests will be reviewed by the editorial team. A manuscript must not be withdrawn merely to submit the same work to another journal while it remains under consideration by JIFS.
If serious ethical concerns or suspected misconduct arise during the editorial process, JIFS may suspend consideration of the manuscript while the matter is assessed. Withdrawal will not automatically prevent the journal from investigating suspected misconduct or taking appropriate action.
4. Editorial Responsibility and Transparency
All decisions concerning corrections, retractions, and withdrawals are made fairly and objectively, based on the available evidence and the seriousness of the issue. The editorial team may consult independent experts or the authors' affiliated institutions when necessary. Relevant notices and editorial actions will be documented and communicated transparently to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
